Site scheduled for overhaul

Alright following the May Event the site will be going through a rather drastic overhaul. The site has become neglected due to college and I'm disgusted in how messy and disorganized its become plus I've gained alot more experience in web design since i made this site. I still like the book design however i feel i can do it much better now.(lol i remember when i used to praise the trinity site design...lol)

What wont change:
basic color scheme
the basic stuff/information.
the forum(not much to change there.)

What will change:
pictures(pictures WILL be taken this event. I will be taking new race pictures.)
site layout and organization
tables( the tables need some fixing up)
code(this will be the major change, expect more javascript and CSS)
Logo(I want to create a new logo for trinity)
Flash elements(things will load faster)
linking(it'll be less maze like to get to certain pages, more streamlined.)

New stuff planned:
Know the players section- aka a pc/npc of the month section. I feel we need this. I will ask the GMs to pick a player of the month and i will get a picture of them and ask them to send a short bio of their character and/or quote. I will then make a short page for them. As we get more players of the month you will be able to go through and check out past players of the month. I feel this will boost player moral and encourage good sportsmanship.
Updates menu- the right side menu of the main page shall be change to an updates menu. It will list links to the most recent events and other important headlines. This will free up more space on the middle section allowing for more information to be displayed there.

Side Note: if you have an idea for the logo please let me know and i'll take it into consideration. The logo is the oldest thing on the site right now. Also if you have any ideas for the site, i ask that you post them in this thread.

Side Note #2: If you have a problem with me and how i run the site feel free to let me know. But, keep in mind that the trinity site is done out of the kindness of heart and paid from my pocket. I have no signed contract with trinity either and the site is legally mine. Work on this site is done out of my love of web design, Trinity, its Staff, and all its players.

Summary= less flash, more javascript!

So you are aware. We (the staff) would like to hear and aprove the overhal / new layout before you put it all up. So we will be inviting you to one of the staff meetings to "present" the changes. It should be a good way to get everything worked out all at once, rather then lots of phone calls and uncertainty.

We are also intrested in "buying" the site name from you/paying for the periotic refreshments on the name. As well as possibly paying for some of your time. Mind you we have about as much money as you do Scott, but the idea that the website is technicly out of the Trinity Staff's hands . . .

Lots to talk about at the staff meeting. Not sure exactly when it will be but we'll let you know

Yeh sorry if i sound a bit snippy at all in my post, sometimes i sound like that. The snippyness kinda comes from when i ran the anime club site. That whole shit kinda pissed me off. Aka a certain person complained that the site was terrible even though no one participate, gave me any input, or even gave a shit about the site(aka i was doing it all on my own). I'm a very defensive person and i just wanted to lay that out there should that incident came about again.

Anyway, i have no problem still paying for the site but i do feel that we should sign a contract like i have done with my other clients. I can type up a contract and bring it to the meeting.
It would basically be an agreement that i agree to run the site for aslong as trinity exists as a larp or something along those lines. And that we each agree to co-operate on the development and maintanance of the site. Basically my point was that we have no contract. I dont care about the money, i should have a shitload of money in just the next few weeks. I'm just kinda short right now, once again sorry if i sounded dicky about it i have a habit of sounding that way when various things are stressing me out.

Frank never checks this site... but I'll ask him to draw up new logo ideas, and other than that, we'll talk about it at the next Staff Meeting (i.e. the one you come to).

I'd especially like to see a section of the site where all of the pictures that are good quality are placed to show people just how awesome Trinity can be.

Btw:
If you can try to make the logo horizontally long and vertically short so that it can be displayed at the top of the page. aka i wouldn't make the logo taller then like 250 pixels if possible. length wise, anywhere from 400-700 pixels.

As for ideas:
the only thing that comes to mind at th moment is the classic warcraft 2 box cover. Aka having the human king and the lich facing each other. Eh i'll talk over stuff with you later.

Ads:
Alright, do you guys consent to ads on the site? I need to know before i do any more work on the site.

How it works:
They would either be a horizontal banner displayed up top or a vertical banner displayed on the side. Trinity would recieve 50% of my profits from the ads on the trinity.info domain. (part of the portion i recieve will be used to pay for the hosting costs)
Please note: Inorder to gain any money from the ads, $100 must be made first. Then we will gain the $100 pay check and all following checks. Many ad services do this to prevent people from trying to cheat the ad company.

Finally, there is no garuantee that we would make any money from the ads. Making money with ads requires people to actually click the ads when they view the site.

I got fed up and started implementing the new layout tonight.
Expect some missing stuff etc......my main concern is getting the layout upgraded. Then I'll go back and rework some stuff. Like pictures and detail.
