Some of this is old information and stuff I remember, so I don't know how accurate this is To use a boyscout camp, the first choice of weekends goes to the boyscouts (obviously). There was something called a boyscout explorer group, which my first LARP managed to qualify for. It put you second to the boyscouts for camp use, but I think you had to do some charity work in order to keep the title. (At least demos for the scouts, or be available for them) If you manage to get onto a camp, the best thing to do is to volunteer time to help maintain the camp. The camp master seems to have a say to who is on his camp and who isn't. A good group who is kind, courteous and neat is welcome back. A bad group is not welcome back. Example 1 - Mystic Realms is, last I knew, no longer welcome at one camp because a building caught on fire during an event due to faulty wiring and the story got into the paper. Example 2 - my first LARP used the same camp until the day it stopped running, and when a different LARP I was then a part of started using it, the camp master remembered me and my group so we got treated better than the rest of the group by him. State parks with camping are another option worth looking into.
